First Lecture Summary Posted

The Old Testament Pseudepigrapha class met for the first time this afternoon and I have now posted the summary of my lecture: "Introduction to the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha."

Also, you may have noticed some alterations to the schedule on the main page of the website. We are rearranging some things right now and hope to have a more or less final schedule posted in the next week or so.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha Blog, which is associated with an honours (i.e. upper division) undergraduate course on the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, which Dr. Grant Macaskill and I are teaching this semester (spring 2007) at the University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. The first meeting of the course is today. Please have a look at the "About the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha Blog" link (also above and to the right) and the St. Andrews Old Testament Pseudepigrapha Website for detailed information about the course and the blog.

I shall be posting a summary of the opening lecture later today on the St. Andrews Old Testament Pseudepigrapha website and will link to it in a post on this blog. The provisional schedule for the course is already posted on that website and will be updated as the semester progresses. We aim to update the blog at least once a day during weekdays (not excluding weekends if something interesting should happen to come up), so please come back often. And have a look as well at PaleoJudaica.com, my blog on ancient Judaism and its literary and historical context.

Thanks for visiting this site and we hope to see you here often.
